Hi, I’m Isabelle — a certified French teacher with a TEFL qualification.
I was born in France, studied photography, and then spent years traveling the world with my camera. I’ve lived in various regions in France, Switzerland, Italy, the United States, the Netherlands, and Turkey before returning to France.
Along the way, I worked in a variety of fields — from sales and administration to VR tech support, hospitality, and catering — which gives me a very practical understanding of real-life communication.
Today, I teach French full-time online, and since 2021 I’ve helped over a hundred students build confidence with nearly 6,000 hours of lessons.
Sharing my language and culture has become a true passion.
Outside of teaching, I love photography, travel, cooking, games, music, animals… and life with my son.
I'm also an author!
In 2022, I noticed something that all my adult learners had in common: they wanted to be able to read a full book starting from A2 level.
But at that stage, the options are limited — books are often either too childish or revolve around the same predictable crime stories set in Paris.
When I explored learner-focused novels written by polyglots, I was often surprised to find grammatical mistakes, outdated or unnatural expressions… and I could see how little my students connected with them.
That’s when I decided to write my own series.
I wanted to open the doors to lesser-known, less touristy regions of France — to share my favorite places, local specialties, and the cultural differences that make each region unique.
Through these stories, I aim to bring together language, culture, landscapes, art, and everyday life… so learning French finally feels real.

“À Travers la France” is set to be a 20 book series that follows Madison and Annabelle, two best friends who set off on a one-year journey across France.
Traveling from San Francisco, Madison reunites with Annabelle in Lyon, where their adventure begins in book 1 through the Rhone-Alpes region. Together, in their converted van, they explore both iconic landmarks and hidden gems — from the Château de la Roche and the Monastery of Brou to the Balme Caves, Annecy, Chamonix, Grenoble, Montélimar, and beyond.
Along the way, their journey is filled with cultural discoveries, breathtaking landscapes, and delicious local cuisine.
More than a travel story, this series is a celebration of friendship and the joy of living — offering readers an immersive glimpse into the richness and diversity of France.
Book two takes you through the sun-soaked landscapes of Provence, while book three — currently in progress — will guide you along the stunning Côte d’Azur.
I also drew inspiration from my students’ suggestions by including comprehension activities, games, flashcards, audio files, and pronunciation guides.
In short, this series is a complete learning tool — perfect for self-study, workshops, book clubs, and more.
